Important Information: Our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer

DISCLAIMERS. Contacting our firm through this website does not automatically create an attorney-client relationship or obligate the attorney to represent you. We do not serve as your representative in any matter unless you and the firm expressly agree in a writing signed by you and the attorney that the attorney will represent you.

This website may be considered advertising in some jurisdictions under the applicable law and ethical rules. The determination of the need for legal services and the choice of a lawyer are extremely important decisions and should not be based solely upon advertisements, law firm websites, or self-proclaimed expertise.

All potential clients are urged to make their own independent investigation and evaluation of any lawyer being considered. Before you decide to retain us, ask us for free information about our qualifications and experience.

We do not offer any guarantee of case results. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.

No representation is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed by us is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers.

In situations in which our fees are contingent or partially contingent on the outcome of the case or transaction, the client is obligated for payment of court costs and expenses regardless of outcome.

If seeking information about your personal information that HLF has collected, you should fill out the online request form and follow instructions you will be provided to verify your identity (including your name, address, and date of birth). HLF will contact you (or your agent) within 10 days to acknowledge receipt of your request.

Consumers may make two requests every twelve (12) months.  A verifiable consumer request must:

  • Provide sufficient information to allow us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative.
  • Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you.  Making a verifiable consumer request does not require you to create an account with us.  We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request.

HLF’s response to requests for information.

HLF will endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of its receipt.  If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.

Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the verifiable consumer request’s receipt. The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.

We will not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.  If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.

No discrimination. You have a right not to receive discriminatory treatment by HLF for the exercise of privacy rights conferred by the CCPA.

This policy was last updated on February 10, 2024. HLF reserves the right to amend this notice in our discretion at any time.
